About Charles

Charles Humble's interest and passion for photography was inspired by his travels around the world with his family.  Born into a military family, Charles grew up moving from country to country every three years.  During this time, Charles watched his father create images of their travels including France, Japan, and Panama.   Partially due to these experiences, his bother, John Humble, would go on to become an internationally recognized photographer (Getty Images-JohnHumble.com).

Charles graduated from high school in France where he began his lifelong love of photography as the yearbook photographer.   Upon graduation Charles joined the military and after serving three years in the Infantry, Charles had achieved the rank of Sergent and was discharged in 1969.  Charles then joined the Indianapolis Police Dept.  In 1974 Charles left the police department to complete his studies at Indiana University.  Following a very successful career as a criminologist, Charles returned to his first love, photography.  From shooting  landscape, travel, model portfolios and beyond, his passion for photography has always been evident to those that know him and have experienced his creative side.

Deep down in his soul, documenting life and all of its beauty has always beckoned him.  "Even though I had made many contributions to society, I have always been drawn to photography and music as a way of expressing myself.   As you can see from my portfolio, I enjoy capturing life and the beauty that we see every day.  Looking back on it, if I were to do it all again, the creativity that photography provides might have caused me to take a different path."  Charles currently teaches photography for Shoot Miami, a group with over 900 members (Shootmiami.net).  To learn more about Charles, go to CharlesHumble.com.
